CrackIt

CrackIt is a Psion
3a/3c/Siena utility developed to perform level 2 fracture mechanics
in accordance with British Standard PD6493 : 1991. Its features
include :-
- Full treatment of surface-breaking and embedded defects with
user-defined parametric angle.
- Flat Plate, Curved Shell, and Kastner plastic collapse models.
- Ability to calculate applied stress intensity as the maximum
of the 0° and 90° parametric angle results (ie. worst
case) automatically.
- Application of partial safety factors if required.
- Calculation of additional bending stress due to misalignment
for the most frequently-used cases.
- Estimation of Kmat using PD6493, KIc, KIa, or Wallin methods
from charpy V results.
- Use of correction factors for flaws at weld toes.
- Sensitivity Analysis: Maximum Membrane Stress, Range of
Permissible Flaw Sizes, Flaw Height, Flaw Length, Flaw Scale,
Corrosion Allowance
- Reporting in Rich Text Format (*.RTF) that can be copied
across to a PC with PsiWin complete with FAD and sensitivity
graphs in word processors that support image fields (eg. Microsoft
Word for Windows). The RTF file can also be viewed and printed
(without graphs) from most other word processors including Psion
Word.
- Database storage and recall of cases
- Graphical display of FAD and Sensitivity Analyses
- Switchable display of intermediate results, eg. for validation
purposes.
Crackit is only available to fully registered WEsSAK users.
